American History?

"The American people did not choose this fight.  It came to our shores, and started with the senseless slaughter of our citizens.  After nearly ten years of service, struggle, and sacrifice we know well the cost of war.  These effects weigh high on me every time I, as Commander in Chief, have to sign a letter to a family that lost a loved one.  Or look in the eyes of a service member who has be gravely wounded.  So Americans understand the cost of war.  Yet as a country we will never tolerate our security being threatened, nor stand idly by when our people have been killed.  We will be relentless in defense of our citizens and our friends and allies.  We will be true to the values that make us who we are.  And on nights like this one,  we can say to those families who have lost loves ones to al-Qaida terror, justice has been done."

- President Obama 5/1/11

My thoughts...
Some describes that "This is the best day ever in American history".  I am not sure if I agree with that.  I do not want to celebrate another death.    His death does not change what happened almost ten years ago and also does not change the multiple bombings in Lebanon, most significant in 1982 -1983 and 2006 in Beirut.  Every country has there own version of a terrorism attack and we should not only remember our lost but their's as well.

I have always questioned why the Americans believe that we are always right.  And yes we did not ask for a war and did not ask for 9/11 but know one asks for anyone to die in a terrorism attack.  This out come make me question our justice system.  If one is murdered it is not justice for the murder to be killed.  We have justice by letting them pay for their wrong doings in the court system.  Our nation has helped other nations bomb other countries.  If we believe and trust in what our elected American President Obama stated,  shouldn't we acknowledge that other countries believe and value the same.  What justice did Lebanon and other countries have for our nations wrong doings.  Some times a hand for a hand or and eye for an eye, is not a good thing and it is not justice.  How can we believe that we provided justice to all the victims of 9/11 by killing Osama Bin Laden?

This is just my thoughts and does not in any way say that I am not an American citizen, or hate the president, or America.  I just question politics and sometimes instilled American beliefs.  9/11 was a horrible event and I will always be effected by.  I just hope that with Osama Bin Laden death, we do not forget our tragedy and hopefully think of tragedies that our nation has incurred to other nations.  Americans are thought of as terrorist to other countries.  We need to stop the occurrence and then we can celebrate.
