Water Fight

     To let out my frustration today I went shopping (need to do that) and I cut the grass in the back yard.  But the kids decided to have a water fight.  I told Ashley to take off her wet diaper and just play and in her PJ's (Still the ones she wore to school).  They had a lot of fun.  The boys had their water guns and buckets and Ashley used the hose.

Shopping Day!

     I decided that I need some real food in the cabinets.  So made a good shopping trip to Walmart.  $180.00 later we have food.  Today was shopping at Jewel, CVS, and Walgreens (Don't Bother!).  I have been shopping at Jewel a lot lately with there buy 10 get $5.00 off deals, which can be combined with coupons and then if you spend $20.00 before coupons the soda was on sale.  This sale is still going on, just different items part of it and the soda is now 4 for $8.00!  As of now I don't need the soda but still using my coupons for some wonderful deals.  As an example:

Pajama Day!

     Pajama Day for Ashley at school today.  This is what she choose.  Before the bus arrived Ashley and Tyler rode their bikes.  I walked around the landscaping and noticed that one of the plants that I planted two years ago finally bloomed.  I planted a total of three of the same plants but the other two died and I thought this one was going to die as well.  I am glad I did not dig it up!

Day 11 - a song from your favorite band

     NO DOUBT!  With Gwen Stefani of course.  I also love her solo work and was almost going to choose  "Cool" by Gwen Stefani but it is favorite band!  Which is No Doubt.  Love this song and video.  Enjoy!

Landscaping Progress!

     I really wanted to get some yard work done today.  So I started in the rain!  It was not that bad just really muddy.  I got some looks from people outside celebrating the holiday but I just kept on pushing the wheel barrow!  My goal was to at least get the island cleaned so I could put the mulch down tomorrow, but I just decided to finish it today!!!  I had help from the boys spreading the mulch!  So glad that island is done.  But still have to work on the side of the house and by the gate.  Need to bury a pile for the down spout and want to extend an island (I know more digging) so I don't have to cut the grass around the window well.  Next weeks project (LOL)!

Day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep

     When I was in the military I would use music to put me to sleep.  My bedtime CD's usually included any songs by Sarah McLauchlan.  One of my favorites is "Angel".   The song is very clamming and if you don't think about to much of the meaning it is helpful for relaxing.  If you think to much of the meanings then you could be up all night.  This song has been used to bring awareness to its original meaning along with Columbine High School,  911, Concert for Linda (For Linda McCartney Breast Cancer), Tsunami Aid, and for American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.  Also has been accredited to aiding in saving Darryl McDaniels (Run-D.M.C.) life (as stated by himself).

     This song has deep meaning in which she explains above.  It was inspired by the overdose of Jonathan Melvoin, whom was a touring keyboardist for the Smashing Pumpkins during the Mellon Collin and the Infinite Sadness tour.  Which is an amazing CD as well.

Bowling 5/28/11

     Busy Busy Day!  More adult conversation!  They had a lot of fun.  Ashley learns a lot from Hannah, and Hannah is a big helper.  Ashley never wants to finish a game of bowling unless Hannah is there with us.  My cost here was $10.50 which is only for shoes!  It is $3.50 rental for shoes (so in the market for cheap bowling shoes at garage sales)!  The two games for each kid was free.  I signed up at for KidsBowlFree, which allows the kids to bowl two free games every day with online printable coupon!  Plus the bowling alley has a program that a percentage of your purchase goes on a card in which you can use there for food!  I have only used the coupons today, but will have to go more often once the kids are out of school!

Ashley T-Ball 5/28/11

     A good game and was glad to get it in before the rain.  Started off today with a migraine, but was very much looking forward to the day.  I was going to be able to either do concessions (I know desperate) or be able to have adult conversation while watching the game.  I did not have to do concessions but was able to sit and talk to Melissa and Tammy (whom at this time I would have to say are my closest friends out here). I had to put Kyle in time out due to his behavior but otherwise all was well.  Ashley hit the ball today!  I asked her about it after her run around the base and all she had to say with a big smile was "Almost mommy, almost".

Day 09 - a song that you can dance to

  
     This song makes me dance!  I love pretty much every song that Micheal Jackson sings, but this is one of my favorites.  He was and still is a inspiration to individuals and to the music world.

    
     Searching YouTube for videos I found this one.  It truly shows how Michael Jackson changed a persons life.  I was surprised how easily "Ice Ice Baby" from Vanilla Ice blended with "Billie Jean" from Michael Jackson.  I was also amazed at how Michael Jackson dances could easy be transformed to Bolly wood dance!  Michael Jackson is one person I would of loved to meet.  So many questions!  His life is very intriguing to me and would of loved to ask him and experience parts of it with him.

Tyler's Baseball Game

     It was a very uneventful game.  Our team did not score any runs and thru the entire game they only where up to bat once.  We played a very good team.  Tyler seemed to have ants in his pants where in the out field (can't get that boy to stand still).  But the boys still had fun because a lot of the players on the opposite team where friends of Tyler's.  Ashley was happy to be able to play with Hannah and Kaylie.  Kyle sat and watched the majority of the game!

We attempted to beat the rain.  Not an easy task.  We only made it to the ending of third inning.  Our team is finally understanding the game.  They are really turing out to be an wonderful team!  Still have issues with catching a thrown ball but they are still getting the outs when needed.  They have some players that can really hit the ball and many that are good base walker ( :) ) and base stealers!   Kyle is a walker and stealer, but I told him all that matters is scoring a run!  He does wonderful in the out field.  He is able to throw the ball to what ever base needed and he seems really into the game.

Day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event

    
   This song was my break up anthem.  I can think of two boys that this songs reminds me of.  Of course they where high school boys.  And the first one is from freshmen year (Kevin) and the other from junior year (Dave).  This songs original intent was for Dave.  Every time I heard this song I thought of them.  Now, the majority of the lyrics did not apply, but it is really how I felt at the time.  OH the high school days......

Jimmy Buffet: Margaritaville....This first song has a direct link to my friends from Chinhae, Korea!  We all seemed to love this song and it was a natural request at Duffy's!  I will never forget the fun times we had together.

     The reason behind this songs is tragic.  And with that knowledge it makes the song a sad one to listen to.  I has great meaning and has been a song that has brought attention to multiple events.  

Lunch Celebration

     Following our weekend ritual, we went to Steak N' Shake for lunch.  They changed one coupon situation for us, but there is a new way to get a low bill.  Still kids eat for free!  The change is that you can't use a coupon for a meal in combination with the free soda with any meal with fries.  Ok so you could possible argue the fact that the coupon should work, but I am already getting free kids meals so why bother (don't want to ruin a good thing).  So instead I used the buy one shake get one free!  Must use coupons for a celebration as well and must combine free with coupons LOL!  Below is my totals!!!
